L'Anse Creuse Public Schools offers a number of excellent early childhood programs tailored to suit both the needs of the parent and the child.

Great Start Readiness Program

Funded by the State of Michigan, this program is available for L’Anse Creuse children who meet state-mandated criteria and are four by September 1st. Tuition Classes

Classes designed for three and four year old children are held at Anna Mae Burdi Early Childhood Center in Chesterfield and the Early Childhood Center in Harrison Township.   Families register in the spring for the following September for this tuition-based program.  Call (586) 493-5220 ext. 1310 for more information.

Full Day Preschool

This full-time experience is housed at Anna Mae Burdi Early Childhood Center in Chesterfield and the Early Childhood Center in Harrison Township.  Children three to five years old participate in planned learning activities, lunch, rest and outdoor play. Burdi is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Early Childhood Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call the Burdi Center (586) 493-5220 ext. 1301, or the Early Childhood Center at (586) 783-6323 ext. 1301 for more information.

Before and After Preschool Care

An extended learning opportunity for preschoolers before and/or after their preschool classes.  The program is a prelude to or an extension of one's preschool class with developmentally appropriate learning activities.  Call the Burdi Center at (586) 493-5220 ext. 1301 or the Early Childhood Center at (586) 783-6323 ext. 1301 for more information.
Before and After Care

Head Start

A free preschool program provided by Macomb County for three and four year old children from income-eligible families. Call (586) 469-5215 for more information.

Teens for Tots Preschool

The Preschool Program at the F. V. Pankow Center is a learning program designed for high school students who are enrolled in the Early Childhood class. They can earn credit while working with preschoolers under the supervision of the Child Care Directors and Early Childhood Educators.

Early Registration

“Staff and Alumni Registration”
Who: District employees, ECSE families, Teens for Tots families and families who have participated in L’Anse Creuse Public Schools tuition-based preschool programs in the past are eligible for early registration for the Fall programs. (Proof of program participation is required.)
