Note: This course is offered on a “block” schedule (two class periods) for two semesters. Job #1 in the hospitality industry is creating a welcoming atmosphere. Whether it’s in a restaurant, at a hotel concierge desk or following a round of golf, hospitality means happy customers. This class will begin preparing students for managerial careers in the hospitality fields by focusing on the following areas: Industry Overview, Lodging, Commercial and Non-Commercial Food Service, Recreation and Leisure Event Management, Travel and Tourism, and a Career in Hospitality. In addition to preparing students for entry-level positions in hospitality management, this course will provide specialized knowledge in the various management techniques and skills as they are practiced in the hospitality industry.
