About Higgins

Francis A. Higgins Elementary has been in operation since 1995 and serves over 500 students in grades K-5 and Early Childhood Special Education.  Our Higgins community prides itself on academics, as well as the social and emotional growth of all students.  We believe in creating a continued tradition of excellence in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.  We are proud to say our teachers regularly attend professional development and keep current on research based educational practices.  Staff members keep an open line of communication with parents and challenge students to do their best and be their best.  Because some of our students do face academic challenges, we provide academic support in many forms.  Parent involvement is very important at Higgins.  We strive to keep parents informed and involved.  We have a very active parent group (PTC) that assists in many ways each day.  We recognize positive behavior through our positive behavior support program.  Kindness is Contagious at Higgins Elementary!!
