L'Anse Creuse Public Schools believes that technology will support and enhance instruction. Technology should make the workplace more efficient and effective. Technology shall be used to increase communication with students, parents, staff, and the community. Lastly, technology will be used to increase the security and safety of students and staff.
Getting Connected at Home
How to connect an iPad to Wi-Fi
- From the Home screen, tap the Settings app, and then tap Wi-Fi.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. The toggle switch should be green when Wi-Fi is on.
- Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to join.
- Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network, and then tap Join. If you can’t tap Join, the password you entered is incorrect. If you don’t know the password, check the back of your Internet router or contact your Internet service provider for assistance.
How to connect a Chromebook to Wi-Fi
- Upon turning on the Chromebook, you will be presented with a list of available networks.
- Click the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to join. Be sure to scroll down if needed.
- Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network, and then click Connect. If you don’t know the password, check the back of your Internet router or contact your Internet service provider.
How to sign in to a Chromebook or Google Chrome
- Enter the student’s district email address, and then click Next. Their email address consists of their student number plus the first three letters of their last name followed by @lc-ps.org. Note: students do not have email enabled on their Google Accounts; this is simply their Google Account username.
- Enter the student’s district Google Account password, and then click Next. Their password is their birth date starting with the 4-digit year, then 2-digit month, and then 2-digit day (i.e., YYYYMMDD).
How to connect a Windows laptop to Wi-Fi
- Click the mouse or press any key on the keyboard to access the sign in screen.
- From the sign in screen, click the globe icon in the lower right corner.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. The square Wi-Fi button should be blue when Wi-Fi is on.
- Click the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to join. Be sure to scroll down if needed.
- Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network, and then click Next. If you don’t know the password, check the back of your Internet router or contact your Internet service provider for assistance.

Student Online Learning Information
L'Anse Creuse offers several online learning options for students in K-12. The information in this section explains how to access each of these programs.
While all options are available to L'Anse Creuse students, you should check with your teacher to see how they are delivering your lesson plans and assignments.

Discovery Education
Access: https://office365.discoveryeducation.com
Discovery Education is the global leader in standards-based digital curriculum resources for K–12 classrooms worldwide.
All L'Anse Creuse students have a Discovery Education account.
The logon format is your USERID@lc-ps.org.
Student USERID consists of your Student ID number plus the first three letters of your last name.
Your password is your date of birth in this format: yyyymmdd.
Edmentum Courseware
Edmentum Courseware has been chosen as the virtual learning program for our 6-12 students. If you've opted in to virtual learning, you should have received a letter containing your child's login and password information. If you have not yet received the letter, you can access a copy with generic login information here.
To access Edmentum Courseware from home:
- Go to: https://auth.edmentum.com/External/Challenge?provider=Microsoft (It will redirect to a Microsoft sign-in page.)
- Enter your Student Username. Your student username consists of your student number plus the first three letters of your last name, followed by @lc-ps.orgFor example: 123456smi@lc-ps.org
- Enter your Password. Your student password is your birthdate starting with the 4-digit year, then 2-digit month, and then 2-digit day. (i.e., YYYYMMDD)
- Click on ‘Log In.’
- On the home page you will see a list of Active Assignments.
- Access your courses under Active Assignments by clicking on the All Activities button found on the bottom left of a course card.
- Once inside a course, you can View Instructions, filter activities by progress, and click on individual assignments to begin and/or complete work.
If you are experiencing issues signing in, please try this alternate method:
- Go to https://login.edmentum.com.
- Enter LACPS2 in the Account field.
- Enter your district username in the User Name field. Your district username consists of your student number followed by the first three letters of your last name. (Note: do NOT include @lc-ps.org at the end)
- Enter your password. Your password is your birth date starting with the 4-digit year, then 2-digit month, and then 2-digit day (i.e., YYYYMMDD).
- Click the Log in to Edmentum button.

Google G Suite
Access: https://accounts.google.com
G Suite for Education includes Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and slides. Gmail is not available for students, please refer to Student Email section.
All L'Anse Students have a Google G Suite for Education account.

Microsoft Office 365
Access: https://portal.office.com
Office 365 Education is a collection of services that allows you to collaborate and share your schoolwork. The service includes Office Online (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote), and personal cloud storage.
All L'Anse Students have a 365 account.

Student USERID consists of your Student ID number plus the first three letters of your last name.
Your password is your date of birth in this format: yyyymmdd.
Schoology
In order to access Schoology parent access, all parents/guardians will need to register for a Schoology account using the Parent Access Code received for their child. If you did not receive your Schoology Parent Access Code, please reach out to your child's teacher. While Schoology is able to be utilized in all browsers, it does tend to work most smoothly in Chrome.
- To sign-up for a Schoology parent account:
- Go to www.schoology.com
- Click "Sign Up" at the top of the page and choose "Parent."
- Enter your Parent Access Code. This is a 12-digit code in xxxx-xxxx-xxxx format that you will receive.
- Fill out the form with your information.
- Click "Register" to complete.
When you use a Parent Access Code to create an account, you are automatically associated to your child. Parent Access Codes are unique to each student, but can be used to make multiple parent accounts. You can also add additional children to your account using the "Add Child" button.

Student Email
Access: https://portal.office.com
Email is available on Microsoft Office 365 to all secondary students. Grades 6-8 can only email their teachers. Grades 9-12 have full email access and all incoming and outgoing mail content is scanned and monitored.

Technology acceptable Use Policy
L’Anse Creuse Public Schools encourages and strongly promotes the use of technology among students, staff, parents and community members. Individuals who use district technology, must have proper authorization and adhere to district policies. Additionally, all use of technology must support and be consistent with the district’s stated goals. Individuals who do not follow the user responsibilities may be subject to disciplinary action including the loss of technology privileges.
