Dear L’Anse Creuse Community Members, On behalf of L’Anse Creuse Public Schools and the Board of Education, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your support and confidence in the passing of the $188.7 million no-tax rate increase bond proposal. Thanks to you, we have an incredible opportunity to enhance our schools and create lasting improvements for our students and community. With this bond, we will be able to advance safety and security measures across our district, upgrade our technology, enrich our arts and music programs, and update athletic spaces and fields. We will also replace our aging bus fleet and make essential infrastructure improvements, including repairs to roofs, parking lots, walkways, masonry, and heating and cooling systems. These upgrades will help create safe, modern, and inspiring learning environments for our students. We understand that this work cannot happen overnight, and we are committed to keeping you informed along the way. As we move forward with bond projects, we will regularly share updates on our progress and on how these improvements are making a positive difference in our schools and for our community as a whole. Thank you for being student-focused and community-minded. Your commitment to the future of our schools is what makes these advancements possible, and together, we are building a brighter future for all of our students. With sincere appreciation, Keith Howell Superintendent L’Anse Creuse Public Schools

Background information

School officials worked with architectural and construction management specialists to determine immediate facility needs and program upgrades to identify bond proposal projects. Identified projects were grouped into four categories:

  • Enhancing safety and security
  • Enhancing arts and athletics
  • Improving instructional spaces and technology
  • Improving infrastructure and school sites

Due to the financial history of spending down the 2005 bond funds, the district is able to ask the community for a new proposal with a no tax rate increase to residents. The district has worked to develop a bond proposal to address the facility needs of the district and support the learning process for both students and staff. No. L'Anse Creuse Public Schools will extend the current tax rate for the entirety of the bond, which is not projected to increase the tax rate to complete the projects.
