Board of Education

The L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Board of Education is a seven-member legislative body elected by residents of the district. The Board consists of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and three trustees. 

Board vacancy

Board Trustee Andrew Parski has resigned from the L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Board of Education, effective March 9, 2025. By law the Board of Education has 30 days to appoint an individual to a board vacancy. The appointed member’s term is until December 31, 2026. 

Application Information and Materials

To be eligible for an appointment to the L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Board of Education, you must:  

• Be a registered voter in the School District of L’Anse Creuse Public Schools
• Be at least 18 years of age. 

You should plan to be available to interview in person on March 19, 2025.

Applicants MUST submit their completed application by Monday, March 17, 2025 by 12:00 pm. No late applications will be accepted. Interviews will take place during a Special Meeting of the Board on March 19, 2025 starting at 6pm.

BOARD Responsibilities

The Board of Education is responsible for local school matters established by the Michigan Legislature and Michigan State Board of Education. The Board determines policies for the management and care of the school district. The Board is responsible for hiring the Superintendent and delegates authority to the Superintendent and administrative staff to operate the schools according to policy.

The Board meets regularly twice a month unless additional meetings are posted. All meetings are held at the Harry L. Wheeler Community Center and Administrative Offices, located at 24076 F. V.
